Embracing Darkness: RIYAH’s Journey from IVY CROWN to Solo Artistry
With undeniable vocal delivery Maria Kjær takes us through her gloomy and fierce universe under the moniker RIYAH. At only 16 Riyah was part of IVY CROWN who hit the scene with undeniable prowess. 3 million streams and a couple of national tours amounted to a spot at Copenhell. Before that show materialized, COVID-19 took RIYAH in a different direction. A direction that meant standing on her own feet, with fast paced dark songs about her tumultuous personal experiences.
Her EP “Ripped Jeans” is a balanced mix of Billie Eilish inspired hooks and rock riffage that sound both familiar yet fresh. All the songs are mixed by Jacob Hansen (Gojira, Arch Enemy) and produced by upcoming producer Mass Zero. The new EP is already available on all streaming services through Prime Collective.
