Sugar Spine offers an aggressive blend of hardcore and metalcore influences. The band’s inception began as a solo project by vocalist Josh Muncke. During a two-week hotel quarantine in Australia amid the global pandemic, Muncke wrote their debut song, “Go Outside.” This period of isolation catalyzed the creation of what would become a formidable presence in the metal scene.
In July 2023, Sugar Spine transformed from a solo project into a fully-fledged band consisting of four members, enabling the band to bring their intense and dynamic sound to live audiences. Their rapid development as a band saw them quickly sharing stages with prominent international acts such as Jesus Piece, Breakdown of Sanity, Half Me, and Misery Signals.
Sugar Spine’s collaborative efforts extend to working with notable bands such as Born of Osiris, Distant, Bleed From Within, and To The Grave. Despite being a relatively new band, Sugar Spine has made significant strides, impressing audiences and building a dedicated fan base.
